The Gardner School PTO will be electing new officers for the 2018-19 school year at the September PTO meeting. The following positions are open:
The treasurer shall receive all funds of the PTO, keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures, pay out funds in accordance with the actions approved by PTO members at regular or special meetings, and pay out funds approved by emergency action in Section 5.4, below. The treasurer will make available a financial statement for every regular PTO meeting and at other times of the year when requested by the Finance Committee of the Member and/or any PTO members, and
make a full report at the end of the year to the PTO members and, upon request, the Member’s Finance Committee.
The secretary shall keep all records of the PTO, take and record minutes, handle correspondence, and send notices of meetings and copies of minutes to the classroom representatives. The secretary shall also keep copies of the minute book, bylaws, rules, membership list, and any other necessary supplies, and bring them to meetings.
Each classroom at the School shall have a classroom representative to act as a liaison between the PTO and parents of students in the respective classrooms. Responsibilities of the classroom representatives include attending regularly-scheduled monthly PTO meetings when possible, and forwarding emails from the PTO to parents of students in the respective classrooms. Classroom representatives are not officers of the PTO and, as a result, the positions are filled on a first-come basis without the need for appointment by election.
