Wy'East and Kalama at the Oregon Zoo
Wy'East and Kalama are going on a Reading Buddy trip to the Oregon Zoo. If your student is in one of these classes and you're interested in driving and chaperoning, contact your student's homeroom teacher!
Hike with the Head
Join us at drop off and take a walk down to WSU with our Head of School, Emily Davis. See the route the kids take when they explore the WSU trails, get some exercise, and enjoy a walk and talk with the head of school and other parents.
Gardner Talent Show
Auditions opened right after Spring Break, and students are hard at work. Join us in the Great Room to cheer on our unique, impressive Gardner Talents!
"First" Friday Parent Social
The first Friday of April was over Spring Break, so we're moving the First Friday parent coffee social to April 12th! Join us in the Farmhouse for a cup of coffee or tea and a treat, and catch up with admin and other parents!
Wy'East at Audubon Marmot Cabins
Wy'East will be off on a fun three-day, two-night adventure to the Audubon Society's Marmot Cabins near Sandy, Oregon!
Picture Make Up Day
This day is a make-up day for any students who missed the fall picture day, or who have joined Gardner after that date, so we can include them in our yearbook! Please contact llinderman@gardnerschool.org for more details.
Gardner Auction
The annual Gardner Auction is our key fundraiser, supporting all our student programs, facilities, and educational goals for the coming year. Attendees will enjoy a variety of charcuterie and drinks, attend unique Gardner-style activities, and raise money for the school through an Art Auction and Paddle raise. This year we have some fun new twists, and those registered by March 1st get priority choice for activities, so be sure to get your tickets soon!
Parent Chat and Auction Art Show
In addition to our regular monthly Parent Coffee Chat in the Farmhouse, we'll have a preview of the student-created art that will be up for sale at our upcoming Gardner Auction. Come see the amazing work our students have done! Tickets for the auction are still available!
Klickitat at Oregon Symphony
Teacher Greg will send home permission slips and more information about this classical music tie-in to the earlier Mythology thematic.
Gardner Market
Students in our 2nd-6th grade classes create items individually or with a partner to sell, and our Kalama and Pahto classes work collaboratively to create and sell items. We set up booths in our portables and Great Room and students practice customer service, making change, and speaking with guests. Our students choose a charity to donate the proceeds of the event to, and families and guests come and shop the market on the day of the event.
K-6 Parent Conferences
Parents are invited on campus to meet with their child(ren)'s homeroom teacher for parent conferences. Stay tuned for more information in classroom newsletters!
Preschool Playdate Visitation
If you have a younger sibling who will be applying for enrollment next year at Gardner, this is for you! Come join our team as children get a chance to play together with the teachers, and parents get a chance to connect. Tumtum Celebration of Learning
Join our preschool class to celebrate a year of growth, friendship, and learning at 2:00 pm.
Pahto Field Trip to Goodnight Moon, 12:15pm

Snow Ball (rescheduled)
The Snow Must Go On! Our SnowBall has been moved to the 2nd of February, but all other details are the same. Food, fun, dancing, friends, and a special night out for our students and their school-aged siblings! Please RSVP for the new date here!
First Friday Parent Social, 8:15 am- 9:30 am

School is Scheduled Today
The previous in-service day scheduled for teachers has been changed to a regular school day due to the snowy icy weather we recently experienced.
Winter Break, No School
We will see you back on campus in the New Year! Classes resume on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024. Wednesday is an early release schedule.
No Aftercare Available
Our staff will have their annual holiday party on this day, and no aftercare is available. *If you have a child in Tumtum or Mazama with an older sibling, they can stay up to the K-6 pickup time at 3:30.
Pajamas, Pancakes, and Pizza!
This fun tradition continues, with the Triple P- It's Pajama Day, where we'll start the morning with a schoolwide pancake breakfast, followed by Pizza Friday as usual for lunch. Each classroom teacher will share plans for classroom activities or parties, and volunteers are welcome! Contact Office Manager, Lisa Linderman, for more info.

Meet in the Great Room for schoolwide presentations before touring your students' classrooms for more examples of their work from the year so far.
Mazama Celebration of Learning, 12:00 pm

No School- Teacher Inservice Days
This year, in response to past attendance trends, our teachers will have in-service meetings on Monday 11/20 and Tuesday 11/21. Important topics around assessment, support of neurodiversity and learning differences, and NWAIS accreditation work will be covered. No student attendance these days.
Dรญa de los Muertos
Students learn about the tradition of Dรญa de los Muertos in their Spanish classes and presentations.
Costume Day
Students who wish to wear costumes to school can, but they are required to be able to get in and out of them on their own. All props should be left at home (including fake weapons), and no scary or gory elements, please.
