Maddy Savage
After School Program
Maddy grew up in Vancouver, WA and attended Union High School. For her undergraduate degree, she attended the University of Washington, where she studied oceanography and chemistry. Energized to get on the water, she worked as a deckhand/educator for five seasons for Sound Experience, a unique nonprofit organization that operates an historic schooner sailing ship, Schooner Adventures. During the pandemic, Maddy worked at Gardner as the extended care specialist and substitute teacher. Inspired by student-centered learning and experiential teaching, she then went to graduate school at IslandWood and completed her Master of Education degree at the University of Washington.
