Angela joined the Gardner team last year, after spending the last 17 years working in schools across the Pacific NW as a publishing consultant. Her work included teaching yearbook students journalism and graphic design, guiding students and teachers through project management, and directing a summer scholastic journalism workshop for over 150 middle and high school students. Over the past 15 years, Angela has often presented at state scholastic journalism conventions, yearbook workshops in CA, OR, WA and HI, and at international sales conferences on leadership and communications. She also owns a freelance graphic design company, supporting local nonprofits and small businesses with their marketing and communications.
A graduate of University of Oregon’s School of Journalism & Communication, Angela is also a Certified Journalism Educator through the Journalism Education Association.
In her “spare time” Angela led a course on leadership and communications to adults for three years, was a motivational speaker for over 10,000 high schoolers across the NW, and has been an active volunteer for The Gardner School for the past six years (including chairing the annual gala & auction).
Angela and her husband live in Vancouver with their two sons, students in Loowit (1st grade) and Wy’East (3rd grade).
