Erin White

Pahto Teacher (K & 1st)

Teacher Erin grew up in Yakima, Washington, and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education through Western Washington University. She returned to Yakima where she taught early elementary grades, including Kindergarten, for a few years. Erin moved to Vancouver earlier this spring with her family. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in teaching.

Erin is married to her wonderful husband, Andy, and together they have a three year old son named Dexter. Dexter was born deaf, and their family uses American Sign Language to communicate. Bringing sign language into the classroom is a way Erin shares her love for the language with her students, while deepening their understanding of concepts with this whole body approach.

Erin is excited to join the Gardner community and is ready for a wonderful year! She plans to deepen her students connections to their learning by using our outdoor classrooms and she is excited to teach with our integrated thematics based approach to education. We are happy she is joining our team of thoughtful and creative educators!
