Alychiphey Evans

Mazama Teacher (Pre-K)

Alychiphey’s love for working with children started in elementary school when she started a babysitting club with her friends. Initially, she went to school for Fashion Merchandising, but didn't feel that was her true passion and decided she wanted to go to school to work with children. Alychiphey started her journey in Early Childhood Education and instantly fell in love with the field and being in the classroom environment. Over the past ten years, Alychiphey has gained experience working with children in various settings, including as a nanny, soccer tots coach, camp counselor, lead teacher, assistant teacher, and substitute teacher.

The philosophy of multi intelligences personally resonated with Alychiphey as someone who struggled learning and didn't always feel like they fit. She believes that helping children learn and develop in ways that suit their individual needs can build their confidence and enhance their understanding of the world around them. In Early Childhood Education, much of that learning is done through play. Alychiphey is very passionate about child-led, play-based learning and enjoys creating environments that foster creativity, promote growth and development, and encourage curiosity.

Alychiphey moved to Washington two years ago from California with her husband, Blake, and two pups, Maya and Mosby. She is a Bay Area native but lived in San Diego for 4 years before moving to Washington. Last year, Alychiphey and her husband welcomed their son, Quincy Kai, into their family. Outside of the classroom, Alychiphey loves to be with her family, whether watching a movie or enjoying the outdoors. Although she does not consider herself to have a green thumb, she finds joy in caring for her plants and flowers. This past spring, Alychiphey started a flower garden and loves watching the flowers grow and bloom. Still feeling relatively new to the Pacific Northwest, she enjoys exploring new places and discovering fun activities. Alychiphey's goal before the rainy season begins is to visit some local waterfalls!
