Pahto (1st Grade) and Loowit (2nd Grade)

From the foundation built in our Kalama Kindergarten program, the Pahto and Loowit classrooms support the development and strengthening of those skills to prepare our students for the next stages of their education. Students complete projects through a variety of means so they can practice what they have been learning in exciting ways.

A unique opportunity at the Gardner School is that we allow students to move between grade levels to get the support, or the acceleration, that they need in particular subjects. This multi-age approach lets students get targeted instruction, and our school community fosters the belief that all learners are different, and everyone gets what they need to succeed.

The overarching goals of Pahto and Loowit are to help children become:
