Extended Care

The Gardner School Extended Care program provides an opportunity for children to further explore their own interests, as well as to participate in group experiences with others of various ages. Students and the instructor engage in a variety of hands-on activities, outdoor experiences, and play.

  • Before school care is available to students in K-6 each school day from 7:30 A.M. – 8:15 A.M. You may drop your child in the main school building during that time. Children are not to be in their classrooms prior to 8:15 A.M.

  • After school care is available to all students until 6:00 P.M.

Extended Care Options

The purchase of extended care is available at two rates each year:

1. Drop-in rate (which is tallied daily and billed monthly in arrears)

2. Extended Care Contract (click the link to see the contract)

*Notes for the 2023-2024 school year:

  • We will be able to offer Before Care for our Early Childhood students! The same rates and times apply.

  • The drop-in rate for 2023-2024 will be $10.50/hour. Using our digital sign in/sign out process, care will be billed to the minute.

  • We are partnering with Chess Wizards to offer chess lessons as part of our After Care program!

    • Tuesdays from 4pm to 5pm

    • First through Sixth grade students

    • September 26th through December 5th (no lessons November 21st.)

    • Chess lessons will be $21 per week, or $210 for the entire 10 week session. During the lessons, there is no After Care hourly charge. There will still be regular After Care available during that time if students do not wish to join the chess class.

  • Extended Care Contracts are available to families who would like to reserve extended care space(s) at approximately 40% off compared to drop-in extended care rates (plus no charge for before-care). Families who elect the Extended Care Contract may use any extended care service to the full extent specified by your contract.

Refunds are not available for unused contract time; unused contract time does not carry over to subsequent school years. Contracts may be terminated or transferable to another student upon approval by the Head of School. Gardner reserves the right to terminate a family’s extended care contract for repeated late pickups or failure to abide by other extended care guidelines specified in the All-School & Community Handbook.

  • Drop-in extended care is $10.50 / hour for the 2023-2024 school year. Parents may use Extended Care as needed on a drop-in basis. The Business Office will bill parents monthly for Extended Care use.

Students are under the jurisdiction of the School’s Extended Care Program until they are signed out by their parents or to a parent-approved enrichment activity, even if the parents are on campus for other purposes. Gardner reserves the right to deny extended care for repeated late pickups or payments, or failure to abide by other extended care guidelines specified in the Parent Handbook.
