Courtney Tomlinson

Assistant Head of School

Since 2004, Courtney Tomlinson has been dedicated to education in the Vancouver, WA area. With a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of Oregon, she began as an English teacher in public high schools. Courtney focused on supporting diverse student populations, emphasizing reflective and growth-oriented practices, and earned her National Board Certification in English Language Arts. She joined Gardner School of Arts & Sciences in 2018 as a classroom teacher, and moved into leadership in 2020. Her favorite part about working at Gardner is the ability to get to know each individual, child and adult, and to partner with the staff to continually reflect and grow as a school.

She lives in Hockinson with her husband and two children, and their many furry, scaly, and feathered pets. In her spare time, she volunteers with other local non-profits and her neighborhood public school district and enjoys crafting and reading.
