Emily Davis
Head of School
Emily loves her job as the Head of School, where every day is different and no day is boring. Emily is passionate about leading the Gardner School to follow its mission and to move forward towards its vision. Emily is well connected to other independent schools to explore and implement best practice, and she serves on the Finance Committee for the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS).
Emily joined the Gardner School staff in 2016 after seven years at Northwest Academy in Portland, OR. In her time at Northwest Academy, Emily taught math, science, Spanish and learning skills to middle and high schoolers. She also served as the Math and Science Department Chair, and was Chair of the Health and Safety Committee for the NWAIS accreditation visit. Emily has her Masters of Arts in Teaching from Lewis and Clark College, a double major in Conservation Biology and Geography, and an Environmental Science minor from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
“I absolutely love to teach and am truly lucky to have found my calling early in life. After a decade of teaching, it was clear that I was ready for the next step; educational leadership. I am inspired to lead teachers, build community, and advocate for every unique learner at our school.”
Emily is the proud Mom of three children; Eleanor (9), Theodore (6) and Laurelin (3). She and her children enjoy learning and playing with the greater Gardner community. When time permits they enjoy exploring the rural nature of Clark County and are often found outside in nature.
