Lisa Linderman

Lisa grew up in Vancouver, where she spent her after school hours involved with the drama club, and her summers at OMSI science camps in Oregon and the Southwest, hiking and indulging her love of natural history and archaeology. After graduation, she moved to Seattle and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Washington and her Masters in Teaching from Seattle University, where the curriculum was rooted in the Gardner philosophy. She has worked with diverse populations of students from kindergarten through 8th grade, including highly capable middle school students and elementary students with behavioral challenges, and has volunteered as a counselor at a summer camp for foster children and as a house monitor in a shelter for homeless teens. Outside the education arena, she spent her last years in Seattle doing technical support for a web design firm and at Microsoft as a software tester. After returning to Clark County she worked for an art glass retailer and as a transcription editor, and then spent a number of years as the Human Resources administrator at a retirement community in East Vancouver.
Lisa enjoys learning anything someone wants to teach and is always looking to add new skills and knowledge. She spends her spare time baking, reading, gardening, writing, and working on a variety of arts and crafts. She is a certified Master Gardener, Master Food Preserver, and taught CPR and First Aid for over a decade. She’s an unabashed “nerd”, with a lifelong love of science fiction and fantasy, comics, and table top and video games.
She lives in Battle Ground with her officially-an-adult daughter, Genevieve. Their household also includes three cats (Commander Sir Samuel Vimes, Maleficent, and Mochi), a flock of chickens, and the occasional spider.
