Maya Gill

Early Childhood Assistant Teacher, Early Childhood After Care

Teacher Maya has over 12 years of experience in early childhood education, working in various roles from Classroom Assistant to Center Director for Head Start programs. She also served as a parent educator in a home-based program, guiding families to become self-sufficient through education and encouragement.

Maya believes that parents are their child's first teachers and that building strong relationships with them is key to understanding and supporting the whole child. She believes in a shared learning environment that builds on trust, curiosity, encouragement, questions, kindness, critical thinking, thoughtfulness, and experimentation.  Known for her patient and understanding nature, Maya views the world through the eyes of children, fostering their growth through the lens of each individual.

She moved to Vancouver, WA, from New Mexico in 2007. She has a 22-year-old daughter, Noelle who she loves spending time with and she is proud of the kind and thoughtful young woman she has become. She spends most of her free time with her partner and bonus children, doing many different activities. Some of her favorites include nature walks, reading, board games, PC gaming, binge watching Netflix, and taking naps (because who doesn’t love a good nap!).
