Saryn Nash is dedicated to creating engaging, student-centered learning environments that inspire curiosity and foster growth. With over a decade of experience teaching grades ranging from kindergarten through 8th grade, Saryn brings a comprehensive understanding of the educational journey, ensuring that each student is supported at every stage of their development.
Saryn holds a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) with a Reading Endorsement from George Fox University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Oregon. Her commitment to ongoing professional development is reflected in her numerous certifications, including CLAD Certification from the University of California Riverside, an ELL Endorsement, UDL Training, and GLAD Certification, among others. These qualifications equip Saryn with the tools to effectively address the diverse needs of her students, ensuring that every learner has the opportunity to succeed.
Throughout her career, Saryn has worked in various educational settings, including the Vancouver School District and Patwin Elementary in Davis, California. Her teaching approach emphasizes the importance of fostering positive relationships, providing meaningful feedback, and collaborating with students and families to create impactful learning experiences. Saryn is particularly passionate about integrating Universal Design for Learning (UDL) into her instruction, ensuring that her classroom is inclusive and accessible to all students.
In her classroom, Saryn believes in the power of hands-on, inquiry-based learning. She tailors her lessons to resonate with her students' individual experiences and interests, creating a dynamic and engaging environment where every student can thrive. Her approach to education is rooted in the belief that all students have the potential to achieve great things when given the right support and opportunities.
Outside of teaching, Saryn enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with her family. She and her husband, Michael, moved to Vancouver in 2019 from Sacramento, California, and they have two young daughters, Zoey and Maisey. The Nash family loves spending time outdoors, playing games, and cooking together, making the most of their time in this beautiful region.
